Dance but Learn!

Music is an important part of people's way of life as it plays a key role in religious rituals, rites of passage ceremonies, social and cultural activities etc.
Music means different things to different people, to some it is a food for the soul, to others it shows they are alive, and quite interestingly to some few they can only sleep while listening to some form of music - funny? But one thing stands out with these set of people- it means something to them. What if the music has no meaning i.e. no message, makes no sense, not reasonable. (Not because of the language used) But is it possible for a music not to make sense?
While I was growing up, I used to hear my father of blessed memory complain about some music rocking the airwaves, his issue with them was that they had no message, even when the lyrics of these songs were in simple, correct or pidgin english. Yet this same man listens and dances to songs like 'Eni ri nkan he and Olowo laiye mo' by Ebenezer Obey, 'Oyeye and Owa' by the legendary Amb. Osayomore Joseph, 'Atiti' by the late Ohehen and the likes of KSA, Bob Marley, and Sir Victor Uwaifo.
I know what is going through your mind now;they were the music peculiar to his time, right? However, these songs has proven over the years to have had strong messages, hence they stood the test of time- I still enjoy them.
Have you heard or listened to musical works of this age? Whatever the genre, class or type, you must have listened to one if not more, either on the radio, public transport, barbers' shop, saloon, along the road, market place, internet, night clubs etc. What would you say of the little you have heard?
In order not to be discourteous in my approach, 2face Idibia in one of his songs said "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, same can be said in answering the above question however, whatever is your perspective about these music, be sure you have reflections with the wordings. (lyrics)

I have a wish and the overriding effect of my wish is a better life viz better family, relationship, society and nation. My wish is simple-while dancing, learn. Dance and learn!
This song should put a right thinking male or female, single or married in check...

2Face Idibia (Rain drops)
Just like rain drops falling from my eyes
Just like my tear drops falling from the sky
It is like a blessing, a blessing in disguise
That we fail to realize
Now I have to pay the price, pay the price
See, young man, be careful and think it twice
Before you choose to use, before you choose to use, use your device
So you don’t have rain drops falling from your eyes
Only it is a blessing in disguise
Oh what a sacrifice, a sacrifice
I see them...

Did you see that?

A musical icon, one who was once trapped by his desire, made some terrible mistakes, learnt from them, turned over a new leaf and with all these experiences sends a clear message via a song and all you do is dance and drink? Preposterous!

Young lad, dance, you can also drink but learn.

Because we only dance and never learn, some insults their listeners through their songs, yet they dance to the insults (start to 'craze' and you started!)
With due respect to religious folks, please do not get lost in worship or dancing to your religious approved songs without learning from them.
Young man you are an embodiment of ideas and success that the nation is waiting for and you choose to manifest in 'one corner'. Young lady; do you think the world revolves around your 'bum-bum'? Twist oh, but learn. Dance but learn!

If we, at different strata and beliefs can ogle the lyrics of the songs we listen to with our ears, then we improve our lives and our nation; transmogrified.
